LEADERSHIP SAN ANTONIO CLASS 47 CO-CHAIRS ANNOUNCED, STEERING COMMITTEE APPLICATIONS OPEN

The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce are excited to announce the Co-Chairs of the 2023 Leadership San Antonio (LSA Class 47) Program: Jeff Arndt, President and Chief Executive Officer of VIA Metropolitan Transit, and Stephanie Suarez, Co-Owner and Vice President of Integrity Roofing and Siding.

LSA Co-Chairs are appointed by the respective incoming Chairs of the Board of each chamber and provide invaluable leadership and guidance to the LSA Steering Committee, which consists of a small and focused team of LSA alumni who together provide guidance to the members of the incoming class. Collectively, they are responsible for recruiting the members of LSA Class 47 and will develop, plan, and execute a year of impactful experiences aimed at exposing class members to the inner workings of San Antonio and the surrounding region. Each year there is a special focus on the city’s growing industries while highlighting the important role both chambers play in the San Antonio business, political and civic communities. The overarching goal is that this exposure will reinforce the importance of getting involved in the community, staying connected, and giving back.

“Leadership San Antonio was my primary entry to my adopted hometown of San Antonio.  I learned much about the wonderful offerings and the workings of the community,” says Arndt, LSA Class 38 graduate and LSA 46 Steering Committee Mentor. “But even more importantly, I built a network of friends and colleagues that I believe will continue forever.”

Arndt joined VIA in February 2012 as Deputy CEO/Chief of Business Support Services. He has served the transit community for more than 40 years and has a broad range of expertise in operations, planning and finance. He is continuously working to improve the livability and sustainability of the region through development of attractive mobility choices.

Suarez, LSA Class 32 graduate and LSA 33, 37, and 44 Steering Committee Mentor, works alongside her husband Ronnie to lead the award-winning, Texas-grown family business. Integrity has completed thousands of projects across the greater San Antonio region for more than 15 years. She manages the areas of business development, sustainable and strategic planning, customer experience, and external affairs. “LSA is a remarkable program. It provides a unique opportunity to expand participants’ knowledge and understanding of our city, and how they can be an active leader,” says Suarez. “I look forward to working with my Co-Chair and this year’s class as we embark on this experience of our city being the foundation for our learning lab. Not one year of LSA is the same, and I am eager to see this year’s class grow, evolve, and identify ways they can contribute to the greater good of our community.”

Since 1975, LSA has been recognized as the premier leadership development program in the Alamo Region, providing participants a unique experience to expand their service to San Antonio. The jointly sponsored program identifies individuals who have demonstrated leadership in their chosen profession and are active in community organizations that support San Antonio’s growth and development.
